The Century C2-D (Command Distance) was born out of the success of the Century C2, when some anglers asked us to make a more powerful rod. When Century launched the C2, it quickly established itself as the benchmark all-round carp rod thanks to its ability to play with fish, its modern, lightweight construction, its fast tip retrieve and its ability to be used in narrow margins and at distances suitable for most fishing venues. The C2 remains the ultimate all-round rod, but it was never designed as a casting rod in the FMA/SP/FMJ group, hence the requests we received for a Distance Casting version and the launch of the C2-D. This new 13' 3.75lb rod is designed to cast 3.5oz - 5oz sinkers.

The Century C2-D X combines the key features of the C2-D and C2 SP and is aimed at anglers who fish from a distance on larger sites. If you're considering adding the C2-D X to your rod collection, it's because you already own the C2-D and C2 SP rods and appreciate the performance they bring to modern distance fishing. With the C2-D X, we had to go back to the design process to create a rod just over 399 cm when assembled to achieve the maximum casting distance of a carp rod while accommodating the bagging options of existing 13-foot rods. Century has taken the design principles of the C2-D tip but lengthened it slightly to achieve the most powerful tip in our carp range while offering incredible anti-twist properties to help accuracy and retrieve tip speed when casting. The heel of the C2-D X is inspired by the power of the C2 SP and is slightly lengthened to give a more powerful heel than that of the standard C2-D. The C2-D X features a full shrink grip and the same Century 1k-1k carbon reel seat with Matt Black covers used on the C2 SP. There's a choice of ring options for this rod with the traditional Century SiC rings in size 50-16. The other option is the lighter Titanium K snagless ring in size 40-16. The C2-D X may not be as tip-sensitive as a C2 SP and not as easy to compress as a C2-D, but for anglers who need distance and have the ability to use this rod, it will quickly become their preferred option. With practice, the extra metres you'll add to your casts will help you stand out from other anglers on the lake.
