Unmounted hook Kamakura Krank Korda

The "size 2" version of the extremely sharp and popular Kamakura Krank hook.

The Kamakura sharpening process makes the hook point as good as a hand-sharpened hook, but without the time and effort of doing it yourself. The Kamakura Krank has a unique shape, with a very wide opening, a short, curved shank, and a slightly inward-facing eye - the inward-facing effect is accentuated by the shape of the shank and the way it wraps around the eye. The tip, which has a slight beak, is offset and this shape helps it to "Krank" its way through once it has taken an initial hold. These hooks are very strong and feature a micro barb that does not hinder penetration, but once in place, ensures the hook stays in place.

A barbless version is also available. The Krank can be used with a wide variety of different rigs and is incredibly effective even with a simple barbless knot.
