The C2 SP series is a selection of rods that incorporates both the benefits of the new C2 technology and the action and power characteristics of the long-established SP rod. We know that for some larger sites, the standard C2 needs more power, and this will also suit anglers who like to fish at distances that most other anglers can't reach or match with lower-quality equipment. This might be a scenario with a strong headwind where you need to cast a larger lead size or use larger PVA bags. So many anglers told Century that they loved their SP because it had a fast tip action that meant there was enough subtlety in the tip to avoid pulling the hook and still a pleasure to play with the fish, but that when they opened the rod and loaded it with a bit more energy, the butt section was used and the rod could deliver everything asked of it.

So we've released three new C2 SP rod models that build on this requirement but have benefited from a slightly smaller butt diameter thanks to the use of higher-quality carbon materials and have been designed with an overlap joint to improve the continuity of the rod action between tip and butt. The C2 SP 12' 3.60lb is the starting point and the rod we recommend to most anglers looking for a balance between playability and distance in a 12' model. The next rod, with a little more power for those confident in their ability to use it, is the 12' 3.75lb. Finally, we have the C2 SP 13' 3.75lb which is a little softer than the 12' 3.75lb due to its extra length, but will impress all anglers looking for the perfect blend of tip sensitivity and casting ability when needed. These three C2 SP models are all fitted with 50-16 size rings as standard.
